Six Months

This shoot was of a six-month old in the Ridge Crest golf course. We went out in the evening about five o’clock using my nikon D3100 and my 35 mm portrait lens, along with my speedlite YN560-II this is an amazing lite! I have used it before and have been only happy with the outcome. This shoot is no different when used right I the YN560-II will work really well in any situation. I hope you have enjoyed these pictures as much as I...

Lunch!!

Good afternoon! I hope you have found a great place to sit-down and have lunch. A little while ago I had an opportunity to style and take this shoot and I wanted to share it with you. In this small group of pictures I shot I really was working to capture the fresh feel of the food. One of the things that I did not expect to be a challenge was the condiments on the bread crust. There were some pictures that were amazing with the lighting but with the small drip of condiment on the crust, it was making an unwanted shine which wasn’t pleasing to the eye.   To fix this I tried taking a napkin and wiping off the condiment; that only spread it around. The next option was to just change the sandwich bread; that could be hard because of all the work of styling the food. You really don’t want to go through the hard process of making it look great again but it is well worth it! Another option is one that we all must consider and that is bringing it to photoshop and cleaning up that small spot by using the clone healing brush. This other picture is of the Roma Tomato that I used in the sandwich. This was a fun shoot for me because it was simple and I wanted to give it a fresh feel to mach the rest of my shoot so I decided to ad a little water to give it that.   Here is the finale pictures of one of those lunches that really just speaks to...

Info-graphic

Info-graphic are a great way to show information in a way that can catch the eye of public. I have here an info-graphic that I have worked on and have been able to communicate an idea. Info-graphic are designed so that someone can quickly and effectively find the information that is being offered. I hope that you enjoy this one. Some of the things that i learned in designing this info-graphic. 1. You need to be willing to change your design. Be willing to open your imagination. 2. Message. The message is shown by the way that you design. design it for the age group that you are trying to move to action. 3. have fun. when you are designing you should have fun. you should be exited about the information that you are giving out. 4. learn something new. there are many tools that you can use in designing and there are even more that are not related to a computer at all. look out side of the computer. Be willing to open your mind by working with other...

Fall in Rexburg

I love the season change especially when it involves leaves changing color. I think that it is just beautiful to see what happens as they transform from green to gold and orange and other vibrant reds and more. when I was taking these pictures I was using a Nikon D3100 and 35mm lens. This was fun because of the bokeh that I gave to the pictures I also tried it on the last picture that I have in this post of a flower in the gardens at BYUI. I love the idea of improving my Photography skills and hope that I can be able to express my self through my photography. If it is landscape or portraits or any of my creative works like light painting, HDR or posters. I really want to improve and I’m always looking for great places to take pictures. I hope that you enjoy this Fall and upcoming winter. F/1.8  1/250  ISO...

Night Owl in the Day

When I you Salt Lake City Utah I wen to the park and as I was walking around I saw this man holding an owl asking for donations for Earth Wings. its an organization that brings birds to the viewers. I thought that was so awesome I would love to own a falcon some day when I get the time and money. As I was there the man said people could get a picture with or of the bird. One thing that I noticed is that when taking a picture of an animal/bird  you cant really say stay don’t move because they wont listen to you but you can get them to act naturally. This owl fulfilled my expectations of what an owl is like he was stern as looked extremely wise. it was really fun for me. if you like these pictures then you will like this one by katie. http://www.kateandersonphotodesign.com/a-spooky-halloween/ The last picture is from the trip to Utah. We just stopped on the side of the road and I was able to capture the moon. this is something that I have been trying for a long time and it just happened that this was the time to get that shoot. I really love the color. The settings are  F/14.0  1/40 and ISO...

Portraits on the go!

While I was in Wyoming I stooped along the road and took pictures of the fellow photographers I was with. I can honestly say that nothing helps a photographer more then getting his or her picture taken ones in awhile. I really helps you to think about what you are doing when you are asking your models to pose. My models Craig, Lacey, Megen, Katie, Chelsea, Denise, Jordan and Katie. Where so fun because they allowed me pose them and get better experience with the lighting and the surroundings. Katie was even willing to stand in the road. Something that I have been learning about a lot is the importance of a lens that can capture a great portrait. I have found that a 50mm lens is where its at. I love that it goes down to 1.8 and that makes all the difference. My setting F/13.0  to F/5.6    1/640 to 1/125     ISO 1600 to ISO 100 it al depended on the lighting....

Wyoming Mountains

I took a trip to Wyoming with a group of photographers form BYUI. that included Caryn Esplin, Craig Rider and many more great photographers.  Some of the photographs that I got where of the Grand Teton Mountains but most of them where from a distance, but I absolutely love the pictures. if there was anything that that I wished would have gone differently. was that when I was closer to the Grand Tetons it would have been a clearer sky. While we where there my goal was to get some great pictures of the Grand Teton Mountains and I did. I also was able to take pictures of other mountains on the trip and nothing agents the Tetons but i feel that these pictures turned out better. I mentioned Caryn Esplin and that she was on the photo shoot and i think that if you like the photos that I did that you would really love looking at hers.http://www.carynesplin.com/grand-tetons-mormon-row-barn-featured/ My settings where any where from F/11.0 to  F/9.0  1/100 to 1/1250   ISO 800 to 1600   I really hope...

Engagement Photos

Engagement photos are very important they mark the beginning of a major part of your life. These pictures of this couple in Rexburg Idaho. to take these pictures I shoot into the sun most of the time this gives a great back light that causes the subject to be more lighted and it really makes a great photograph. In taking these photographs I used a 70 to 200mm lens and a nikon D3100. I can really say that the best thing that you can do when taking pictures is take the time to look at the place that you are going to be shooting the pictures. there are way to many times that people are not prepared because they didn’t look ahead at the site that they are taking pictures at. I was happy that I looked ahead at the sits because i was able to make a good time frame to a go and take the pictures so I could get good lighting. The engagement pictures where especially fun at the Rexburg sand duns where the setting sun was giving the pictures a great ambient light. I really hope that you like these pictures. and if you do like these pictures then I’m sure that you would love looking Rachel’s photography at http://raetayphotography.com/2011/09/21/tysonjessika-engaged-rexburgidaho-engagement-photographer/. or even ABM Photographyhttp://www.abmweddingphotos.com/blog/audrey-curtiss-engagement-photography-little-italy-jimmys-world-famous-tavern/ Both of these sites are great and you will love looking at the way that the photos are taken. please give me some feed back I would love to know what you think....
